To mark the beginning of the festive period Tarmac has launched a Christmas video celebrating key workers and all of the unsung heroes helping to keep Britain moving.
The heart-warming film features a Tarmac employee who says goodbye to his daughter late in the evening before she goes to bed and he heads to an overnight shift at a local quarry.
While the rest of the country sleeps, he carries out his vital work throughout the night alongside key workers also playing their part in keeping the nation fed, safe and warm, before arriving home in the morning as she wakes up.
The video is inspired by key worker efforts, with a focus on Tarmac employees who work to help to keep the roads, highways and railways open so health and social care staff can get to work, emergency services can operate safely and key resources such as food and fuel can move around the country.
Martin Riley, senior vice president at Tarmac, said: “There are thousands of women and men working incredibly hard every day but also unseen throughout the night with great pride and selflessness, who are keeping the country running during what has been an exceptionally challenging year for everyone.
“From our site teams on the strategic road and rail networks to those working in nationally significant manufacturing plants and quarries producing material for critical supplies such as use in hospitals and other important infrastructure, they are all our unsung heroes.
“Key workers across all areas of our society deserve to be recognised and celebrated for their extraordinary contributions now more than ever this year, and so we would like to wish them and everyone else a very merry Christmas.”
