Cheshire-based mobile ITS equipment provider SRL launches a nationwide competition on December 1st which gives primary schools in the UK and Ireland the chance to win a share of £24,000.
The competition, which is open to everyone, invites individuals to spot SRL traffic systems on roads in the UK and Ireland and submit the location to enter. Entrants will also be asked to nominate a local primary school which will then be in with a chance of winning a share of the prize money, donated by SRL.
The prize money hopes to support children’s safety through the provision of cycling equipment, tailored to schools’ individual needs. Hundreds of school children across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland are expected to benefit.
Richard Tredwin, CEO at SRL Traffic Systems, comments, “These days there are increasing numbers of families choosing alternative methods for the school run, with many choosing cycling. That’s why we want to provide schools with the funds to help them develop children’s essential practical skills.”
“We encourage everyone to take part in the competition. We believe this is a fun way to encourage children to spot and take notice of traffic systems and their function!”, concludes Richard. SRL reminds everyone to be aware of their surroundings when taking photos and only to do so if it is safe and legal.
A total of 12 winning schools will be selected at the end of the competition, with each nominated school picking up £2,000 of the prize fund.
The competition launches closes on 28th February, 2021.
