Rock Fall launch new Neoprene Wellington with advanced durability and visibility features

Rock Fall, a multi-award-winning second.

generation family owned business in Derbyshire, sits at the forefront of the safety footwear market supplying more than 600,000 pairs per year, their world first innovations provide solutions to the ever-changing demands of modern industry.

The company has redeveloped one of their best-selling styles due to a quite harrowing statistic. Road workers being struck by a moving vehicle is one of the number one causes of fatal accidents in the workplace, 205 fatalities were caused at work in UK, between 2011 and 2018 due to being struck by a moving vehicle.

The style they’ve redeveloped is the RF290 Silt, which is already unique due to being highly comfortable from the first wear, offering superb water resistance and heat insulation properties. It’s made of fully non-metallic components and is also Vegan friendly.

The Silt Neoprene Wellington boot is already highly specified by the UKs water operators including Yorkshire Water however other key markets are Utilities, Rail and Highways.

The changes see the addition of a new tough rubber scuff cap and 360° high visibility band, designed to provide additional reflection when hi visibility trousers are tucked into them.

The RF290 Silt is available in sizes UK 3-13 including half sizes for 6.5 and 10.5 (the equivalent of European 40 and 45).

Rock Fall also have several styles equipped with other hi visibility features including a fully waterproof side zip boot and a safety boot certified for use in temperatures as low as -40°C.

Speaking about the developments their senior management team said:

“It’s fair to say if you asked anyone you know if they thought everyone should go home safely from work each day, they’d say yes. As safety equipment manufacturers we believe we should do all we can to improve our range to offer more protection to the world’s workforce. These adjustments to Silt are very simple but make a real difference once they are on people’s feet. We will continue to make changes wherever necessary to offer solutions to real world risks and hazards.”
