Over the last two weeks, Multevo welcomed Jess Siney to the Marketing Department. Jess is currently studying Digital Media at The University of Leeds and is about to enter her final year.
As with many university students, and despite learning valuable skills as part of her degree, Jess has struggled with finding internships in her industry due to having no experience.
Subsequently this drove Jess to be proactive in identifying an organisation to work with over the summer holidays to gain some experience in a real working environment. Jess has spent her time at Multevo working alongside the marketing department mentored by Aimee Dewse, Marketing Manager at Multevo. Being tasked with projects covering a wide array of marketing functions has allowed Jess to gain insight into the world of marketing whilst allowing her to put her skills into action.
Talking about her experience, Jess comments: My time at Multevo has been fantastic, using the knowledge and skills I’ve been taught at university within a professional setting. Under Aimee’s guidance, I delved into five areas: branding, social media, graphic design, animation and communication planning.
Some examples of the experience I have gained include creating new branding guidelines, conducting a social media audit, and creating a new animation focused on Multevo’s social value mission. These two weeks have served as a valuable stepping stone towards my post-graduation journey. The design opportunities have been particularly exciting, allowing me to fully unleash my creative ideas.
From this experience, I have developed a keen interest towards social media analysis and audits, and innovative solutions to increasing engagement. Working at Multevo has been an absolute delight, the environment and employees are so friendly and welcoming, and I felt like part of their family. Anyone would be lucky to work with such a great bunch of people. Thank you Multevo! Providing work experience to students is an important social value initiative for Multevo, who firmly believe in supporting the employability of our younger generations.
On working with Jess, Aimee Dewse Marketing Manager at Multevo comments: Jess has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside and has shown great work ethic and ability to adapt and learn quick. I’ve been really impressed with her skills and attitude, she has brought her own creative flare to the projects we’ve worked together on, showing fantastic attention to detail.
Jess has a bright future ahead of her and will be a great asset to any organisation. It is vital that workplaces create these opportunities for students to gain valuable and professional experiences. Without these, many would struggle to secure opportunities following education.
I’m proud to work for an organisation who continues to support the employability of a diverse range of individuals. Multevo have grown strength to strength over the last few years through the delivery of turnkey partnerships to local authorities and principal contractors, covering highways, civil engineering, traffic management, arboriculture, and vegetation management services. Their upward trajectory allows them to continue to give back to local communities. To learn more about Multevo’s social value initiatives head to: https://multevo.co.uk/social-value/
