Paul Gott, Managing Director of Morgan Sindall Highways, has left the business.
Mr Gott was with the company for 15 years after joining Morgan Sindall as part of the Amec Projects acquisition in 2007.
He was Managing Director of Highways at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure for more than four and a half years.
Mr Gott orginally headed up the energy business, then tunnelling and major projects before taking operational responsibility for the Highways business unit, reports Construction Enquirer.
A Morgan Sindall spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Paul Gott, managing director of our Highways business unit, has chosen to leave our business to pursue other opportunities.
“We would like to thank Paul for his contribution over the years and wish him well for the future.
“Simon Smith, managing director of Infrastructure, will lead the Highways business for the interim period whilst we recruitment for a new managing director.”
Expressing his sadness at the news Safer Highways Chief Executive, Kevin Robinson, said on social media,
"Hearing earlier this week that Paul Gott was to leave Morgan Sindall was a moment of immense sadness for me.
"Paul has, from the start of Safer Highways, been a massive advocate of what we sought to achieve.
"Over the years we have become colleagues who shared the same vision and indeed some special social moments.
"From the dinner before the inaugural SHL!ve where he relentlessly took the piss out of me to our frequent meetings at industry events and the mental health summits at the House of Lords we always had an incredibly strong relationship.
"Thank you for your unwavering support
"Paul, I wish you well in whatever fantastic opportunities present themselves to you please know that from my perspective our industry is poorer without you my friend."
