Parts of the M20 were closed overnight as the Operation Brock contraflow system is removed.
National Highways South East said the closure would affect London bound junctions nine to eight and coastbound junctions seven to nine between 21:00 BST on Monday and 06:00 on Tuesday.
It added that diversion routes would be in place on the A20.
The contraflow has been in place on a 13-mile (20.9km) section of the motorway over the school holiday period due to higher passenger numbers at Dover.
Both M20 carriageways will reopen on Tuesday with three lanes and the national speed limit back in place.
Operation Brock sees lorries heading to Dover queue on one side of the M20, with the other carriageway operating as a contraflow.
