Keltbray has landed its first major deal for the infrastructure team taken on late last year when nmcn collapsed.
Keltbray acquired infrastructure contracts and assets from the administrators of nmcn last October in a deal which saved 117 jobs.
The division has now landed a £6m contract to deliver the design and construction of a new Waste Processing Facility in Hull.
The project will be delivered for recycling specialist Geminor and will be located close to the Energy Works (Hull) energy plant.
The new site will require earthworks, drainage and levelling to be carried out before civils works progress to the construction of the 3,800m2 portal frame and clad processing facility.
Richard Smith, Pre-Construction Director at Keltbray, said: “This has been a target project for us and we are delighted to be part of the delivery team. Upon completion, this site will contribute to increased energy creation for the local community, whilst further strengthening our position in the region.”
James Maiden, Country Manager at Geminor UK, said: “We are delighted to start the construction of our new and modern processing facility in Hull and to create a low carbon fuel from Hull City Council’s waste.
“This year we will implement technology that efficiently strips plastic from the waste, and our intention is to produce low carbon RDF both for the domestic and international market.”
