Jacobs opens doors to industry with its mental health resilience calls

Global Mental Health Resilience Calls made available to industry for the first time.

Safer Highways Member and one of the principal supporters of our own mental health awareness programme, Jacobs, have for the first time made available to the industry access to its Mental Health Resilience Calls.

The latest of these will be held on the 8th September, spanning the globe and take place across two time slots to increase availability for a global audience.

Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day the two events are an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide and to promote action through proven means that will reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally.

During this call, Jacobs will explore the possibilities, discuss real-life experiences, and, more importantly, give everyone hope that we can make a change by coming together and taking action ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day 2022.

Outputs from the two calls will be shared at the One Million Lives hub at this year's SHL!ve with delegates ranging from college students to industry professionals invited to take part in a series of discussions around both physical and mental health as well as some intuitive training and indeed the opportunity to complete their own mental health check in.

To date over 17,000 people have completed the check-in with many praising it for having a positive effect on mental wellbeing.

Speaking about the events and the One Million Lives tool Steve Demetriou, Jacobs Chair And CEO said,

"Positive mental health is a crucial piece of our Culture of Caring. At Jacobs, we continually encourage our teams to be mindful of their mental health and to check-in regularly with their colleagues to uplift each other. Together, we can touch One Million Lives"
