His appointment will ensure a smooth transition with Andries Liebenberg, who will retire at the end of this year after eight years in the role.
Ellison spent 25 years at Costain in senior leadership roles across Rail and Transportation operations leaving earlier last year.
In a trading statement alongside the announcement of the management change, Renew said that first-half trading was in line with management’s expectations with strong demand for its services across all key markets.
The order book remained underpinned by long-term framework positions and was at similar levels to that reported in January 2024 providing good visibility into the second half.
