Safer Highways are pleased to announce the date and venue for this year's Mental Health Report Launch.
Taking place on Thursday 2nd December and returning to its spiritual home at the House of Lords, the launch of the Third Annual report into the provision of support by employers around mental health will also be the first Safer Highways face to face event in two years.
Now in it's third year the annual Safer Highways survey is based upon the 6 core and 4 enhanced standards of the 2017 Government "Thriving at Work" survey, authored by Lord Dennis Stephenson and Paul Farmer OBE which sets out expectations for employers around meeting a minimum standard for support of Mental Health in the Workplace.
Since its inception in 2019, the survey has also been unique by the fact it is not only free to access but also in the fact it gives employers an instant, free gap analysis report on the subject enabling a cycle of continuous improvement.
Despite committing to holding the report launch as a face to face event in December, Safer Highways have acknowledged that owing to current challenges around the evolving coronavirus there will have to be changes to the traditional format, as CEO Kevin Robinson explained,
He said,"As our industry knows the report launch is one of the jewels in the crown within our annual activity and a much needed highlight to round off the year.
"Since the last time we came together, ironically on the 2nd December 2019, we have seen unprecedented times as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which understandably has meant that face to face gatherings have been impossible.
"That said, as a group we were steadfast that if a way could be found to bring this event back to the House of Lords then we would move heaven and earth to do so.
"However, we know that we are in an ever-changing world and as such will have to be agile and that means being flexible about the number of people we are able to invite to attend the event in person, yet still maximise the engagement with what we know from experience is a hugely popular event.
"Therefore, in order to make it as fair as possible we are asking people to register an interest in attending the event, and once it becomes clear how many people are able to be there in person we will select attendees from the membership at random.
"We will then register everyone else for the "live stream" version of the event which will be broadcast via the Safer Highways website, with attendees still able to ask questions as if they were actually sitting in the House of Lords."
The event will again be chaired by Karl Simons, sponsor of the Safer Highways Mental Health Programme and as well as delivering a first glance at this year's survey results, will also feature the usual blend of household and industry names discussing how they live with and drive engagement around mental health.
