These are unprecedented and challenging times, but Safer Highways wants all of our members and the highways and transport industry, to know that we are here to help and support.
In light of the recent pandemic, we are enduring testing times as a sector with many of our smaller contractors and suppliers facing real concerns over work-flow due to postponed or cancelled projects and fears of late or non-payments impacting on their own businesses.
As a result, Safer Highways will continue to lead dialogue with Highways England, utilising Government guidance as our benchmark to ensure we keep the supply chain informed of developments and what this may or may not mean in terms of workflow going forward. Highways England have set up a specific email enquiry line for anyone who feels they need further information. the address is Corona.Information@highwaysengland.co.uk What we implore all leading contractors to do is to stay in touch with their tier 2 and 3 suppliers and most importantly PAY YOUR BILLS - ON TIME. We will emerge from this crisis and the only way we can do this in a robust position is to remain united and to be considerate and kind to all of our partners and show them the same respect in adversity as you would normally expect. Below I have attached a document with the latest guidance for all contractors from Highways England with whom we will stay in constant dialogue to ensure that you are given access to the most up to date information possible. Kindest regards
Kevin Robinson Chief Operating Officer Safer Highways
