Greater Manchester’s TravelSafe LiveChat service has reached a major milestone after recording its 1,000th passenger report just months after launching across the Bee Network.

The joint initiative between Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) allows passengers to discreetly report anti-social behaviour, suspicious activity, welfare concerns and crime in real time while travelling on public transport.

Transport Commissioner for Greater Manchester Vernon Everitt described the scheme as part of a “pioneering approach” to policing the Bee Network and improving passenger confidence while travelling.

TfGM TravelSafe Partnership Manager Kate Green added that rapid reporting and joint working between TfGM and GMP are helping tackle cr
