Aberdeenshire Council have become the latest organisation to join Safer Highways.
The authority, which manages over 5,400km of roads in the region also becomes the first Scottish Road Authority to join the movement, bringing the total number of local authority members to 14.
Speaking about joining Safer Highways the authority said,
"Safety is at the core of our values and at the forefront of everything we do. Joining Safer Highways will facilitate collaboration with like minded organisations with focus being on forward thinking safety improvement throughout the sector.”
Building upon the sentiment, Freya Wells, Chief Operating Officer of Safer Highways said,
"We are delighted to welcome Aberdeenshire to the Safer Highways family.
"It is hugely encouraging to see the Health, Safety and Wellbeing as such a key priority on both the high speed and local roads.
"We look forward to engaging further over the coming months."
