A14 fully reopen at Newmarket months after flooding

Part of the A14 in west Suffolk has reopened after being hit by four months of flooding disruptions.

Millions of litres of water has been drained from the eastbound carriageway, between junction 37

and 38 near Newmarket, since it first flooded on February 22.

One lane has remained closed to drivers since then as National Highways removed water from the site.

A spokesman for the authority confirmed on Thursday that a flood barrier has now been taken away, with all three lanes open to the public.
