Balfour Beatty have been awarded a roads-upgrade project worth up to £40m.
Councillors at Falkirk Council agreed the firm for its Westfield A9/A904 improvement scheme.
Works involve widening carriageways, building major crossing points and implementing road changes, and will kick off over the summer, all of which will be carried out by the UK's biggest contractor.
The contractfor the 28-month long construction t is due to be signed next month.
The project previously secured £14m from the UK government’s Levelling Up Fund.
Balfour had already worked on the project’s pre-construction phase.
Cllr Cecil Meiklejohn, leader of Falkirk Council, said: "By agreeing to appoint Balfour Beatty, we will ensure a seamless transition from the early discussions with the firm to the construction phase.
“This continuity will allow us to capitalise on Balfour Beatty’s extensive experience in delivering major roads infrastructure projects."
